Sri Vasavi Industries to expand its ferro alloy plant at Bishanpur

Sri Vasavi Industries to expand its ferro alloy plant at Bishanpur in Bankura district in West Bengal with an investment of Rs. 400 million. The project involves expanding Ferro Alloy Plant (Fe Mn/Si Mn 45,000 TPA to 75,000 TPA) at its existing premises. Following are the details of the existing and proposed expansion :

Fe Mn / Si Mn will be produced using smelting process in Submerged Arc Furnace (SAF) 14000C.  The molten alloy and slag will be periodically tapped from the bottom of the furnace. Bag filter, dry bagging system, fume extraction system will be provided to control air emissions.  Total water requirement from WBIDC will be 126 m3/day and have applied for permission for additional water to WBIDC. No effluent will be discharged and ?zero? discharge will be adopted.  All the effluent will be treated and used for dust suppression and green belt development. Ferro Manganese slag will be used in the production of Silico Manganese.  Silico Manganese slag will be used for filling the low lying area, new road development.
